Jan Hasbrouck, Ph.D. and Deborah Glaser, Ed.D. have collaborated to develop a four-module training manual designed to support deep professional development for the complex, essential, and often misunderstood skill of reading fluency. The manual defines the complex skill of reading fluency, presents an overview of current research, and offers practical guidance for assessing and teaching fluency for Grades 1-12. Specific skill development activities are included and explained. Classroom teachers, specialists, and instructional leaders can use this straightforward guide to inform and enhance reading instruction so that every student becomes a fluent reader.
